We are seeking a qualified TAB Specialist. In this role you will actively perform, manage and provide Testing Adjusting and Balancing services. As a TAB Specialist you are a technically skilled and experienced commercial balancing technician with proficiency in all industry standard TAB equipment. You will have experience with creating and issuing TAB reports and be an individual who has developed communication, computer, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Utilizes knowledge and experience to perform commercial air water testing adjusting and balancing services including but not limited to the following equipment:
- Air Handling Systems
- Terminal Units (VAV, FPB, DOAS, etc.)
- Fan Coil Units
- Computer Room Air Conditioning Units
- Supply and Exhaust Fans
- Chillers
- Boilers
- Pumps
- Commutes to project site on-time with all relevant company-owned TAB equipment
- Prepares well written and organized TAB reports in accordance with the firm and industry standard procedures
- Prepares pre-TAB documents and drawings for use in performing field balancing and creating final reports
- Troubleshoots and diagnoses issues related to air and water balancing
- Communicates with Senior TAB Specialist and/or Associate to report job progress, deadlines, issues and deliverables
- Communicates with Construction Managers and other field related parties when necessary
- Actively assists other TAB technicians perform TAB services
- Actively participates in training TAB technicians
- Has at least 3 years of experience as a trained TAB technician
- Holds a professional TAB certification title (NEBB,TABB, AABC, NBC) [preferred not required]
- Holds a professional NEBB certification title (TAB CT, TAB CP) [preferred not required]
- Has an understanding of HVAC systems
- Has an understanding of firm/team production capacity in establishing and maintaining project deliverables
- Has a fundamental understanding of Microsoft based applications including Outlook, Wordk Excel etc
- Has basic knowledge of how to troubleshoot various balancing-related issues
- Holds current OSHA card
- Holds a valid Driver's license
- Maintains affiliation with a major professional organization (NEBB, AABC, TABB, NBC.)
Working Conditions:
Moderate to vigorous physical activity is required to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. Performing this job requires frequent visits to construction sites. Use of hands to handle, control or feel objects, tools or controls is required. This position will require one to frequently walk or stand throughout the day. Must be able to climb ladders and scaffolding, reach above shoulder height, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl frequently. Ability to frequently lift or carry 20 to 50 pounds of test equipment. Individuals may need to ride or drive in a vehicle for 2 or more hours at a time. The work requires both indoor and outdoor activity in temperatures ranging from moderate to extreme cold or hot and other weather conditions. Individuals may be exposed to sounds and noise levels that are distracting and uncomfortable. The position may require working outside normal work hours.

Estimated compensation range: $70,000-$100,000 a year.
